Leeds Learning Disability Customer Award Winners 2014 – Fundraiser of the Year

Fundraiser of the year – Steven Netherwood

Steve Netherwood - Fundraiser of the Year

Criteria: a person with a learning disability who has helped raise a lot of money for charity for example by making and selling things, setting up a petition, organising a sponsored event, participating in collections, in other words, digging deep for charity.

Watch this short video to see why Steven was nominated.

Steven has been organising coffee mornings in Wetherby to raise funds for different charities for many years.  Not only does he design the posters on his computer to advertise the events, but he also bakes delicious chocolate cakes and provides the tea and coffee himself.  He has donated money to Martin’s House Children’s Hospice, the British Heart Foundation and the Dogs Trust to name but a few.  Steven does all this with minimal support from staff.  It’s easy to see why so many people nominated him for this award.

More information about the awards is available here.

Well done Steven
