Leeds Learning Disability Customer Award Winners 2014 – Creative person of the Year

Creative Person of the Year – Philip Coates

Philip Coates - Creative Person of the Year

Criteria: a person with a learning disability who excels in a creative art such as singing, dancing, playing an instrument, drawing, painting, acting, craft making, sewing or knitting.

Watch this short video to see why Philip was nominated.

Philip is an extremely gifted musician.  He plays eight musical instruments and can copy a tune after hearing it only once.  Philip not only dedicates a lot of his time to practising but, by popular demand, plays at many events such as the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carol Concert, with the Off By Heart Choir, Beeston Action For Families, Hamara and at the Adult Social Care long-service awards.  Philip is also an excellent performer with the Phoenix Showstoppers drama group so he’s an all-round entertainer.

More information about the awards is available here.

Well done Philip
