Leeds Learning Disability Customer Award Winners 2014 – Sports person of the Year

Sports Person of the Year – Sam McInnes

Sam McInnes - Sports Person of the Year

Criteria: a person with a learning disability who has done well in a particular sporting event/activity such as walking, swimming or keeping fit.  They may have overcome personal challenges to participate, be a great team player, or have shown great determination to overcome difficulties.

Watch this short video of why Sam was nominated.

Samantha is very sporty.  She has swum in the Special Olympics, is a member of a local gym, participates with customers and staff in her community base walking group and does athletics in the evening.  In fact she’s an all-round sportswoman who enthusiastically promotes other customers to participate in sports.

More information about the awards is available here.

Well done Sam
